London University Data Protection Room
CPS have recently undertaken a challenging installation on behalf of one of the world’s leading universities in central London. The project was to provide a secure data room to house the servers which “drive†the day to day business operation.
Given the limited space available to them, the university took the decision to locate the facility in the former underground car park of one of their buildings in one of the busiest areas of the city.
CPS were consulted at the design stage and worked closely alongside main contractors and M&E providers to ensure that the clients demands were fully met and that the installation was delivered to critical key dates in the programme to avoid any business interruption to the client.
The logistics of a central London installation always presents a challenge with deliveries and accessibility – but this is a situation with which CPS are now very familiar. Drawing on their years of experience, CPS were able to order materials in to the exact size and specification required, thus keeping the need for fabrication on site to an absolute minimum.
The ultimate installation provided the client with a security rated installation which was also fire and weather proof.
CPS were also employed to provide barrier protection to the completed works, thus safeguarding the clients’ installation.
